Julia Hodson Chief Constable Notts
Ms Hodson has been Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire since June 2008.

She became a police officer in 1982 when she joined Merseyside and spent time in uniformed policing, personnel, road traffic, Professional Standards and the Control Room.

Joined the Merseyside Police in 1982.

She transferred to Greater Manchester Police in June 1995 as a Superintendent working in the Development and Inspectorate Branch and Uniform Operations and as Commander at Wigan Division.

She then moved to Lancashire Constabulary taking up the post of Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for Human Resources and Training and subsequently became ACC Operations.

Ms Hodson gained an LLB Law Degree from Sheffield University in 1982. She continued further education at Lancaster University and received an MA in 'Crime Deviance and Social Policy'. Since then she has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in 'Counselling' from John Moore’s University, Liverpool.


Ms Hodson was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) in the 2008 New Year’s Honours List for services to policing.
