Durham County Constabulary St John Ambulance Badge
St John Ambulance Badge worn by officers on the left sleeve, Durham issued these between 1892 and the 1920's when they ceased to be issued.  Lug fitment on rear secured by a split pin.  The issue of these badges was discussed at a Standing Joint Committe held at Shire Hall, Durham on 6th August 1889 with the CC Lt Col George Francis White, and finally resolved on 17th January 1891 when it was decided to purchase and issue the badges.
