Tim Hollis QPM Chief Constable Humberside Police
Yorkshire born and bred, after leaving school Tim Hollis did Voluntary Service Overseas in Ghana, West Africa for a year prior to attending Bristol University. He then undertook a short service commission in the Parachute Regiment. 

He joined the Metropolitan Police in 1977 and served in predominantly operational posts in inner London finishing up in Notting Hill. In 1991, he transferred to Sussex Police on promotion to Superintendent. In 1994, he became an Assistant Chief Constable in South Yorkshire.

He held national responsibilities for ACPO (Public Order) from 1994-2001 and commanded the British police contingent for World Cup Football in France '98' and in Netherlands/Belgium for Euro 2000. He set up and ran the national police co-ordinating centre for the Millennium and was subsequently awarded the Queen's Police Medal for his contribution to operational policing at national level. 

In 2002, he became the Assistant Inspector (Crime and Operations) with Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and in April 2005 took up post as Chief Constable of Humberside
