West Hartlepool Special Constable lapel badge West Hartlepool was a division within Durham County Constabulary (and should not be confused with Hartlepool Borough Police which amalgamated with DCC in 1947). Although part of DCC the borough issued its own lapel badges during the 1st WW, some men had their badges engraved as is this one to a local shop owner who was a Group Leader.
