Richard Brunstrom Chief Constable North Wales Police January 2001 to July 2009
Richard Brunstrom joined Sussex Police in 1979 as a zoology graduate, and spent 11 years with the Force.
In 1990, he moved to Greater Manchester Police as a Superintendent, serving initially in Old Trafford/Stretford and then the Moss Side/Longsight areas. He regularly commanded the policing of Manchester United and Manchester City Football Clubs, and acquired extensive operational experience policing areas of inner city deprivation. Latterly he was Divisional Commander at Bury.
Mr. Brunstrom was appointed as Assistant Chief Constable in Cleveland in September 1995 and subsequently promoted to Deputy Chief Constable in that force. He joined North Wales Police at the beginning of 2000 and was appointed Chief Constable in January 2001.
