KENT COUNTY CONSTABULARY RAINHAM, DATED 20TH FEBRUARY 1924

Another photo of the 'Rainham Section', with Sgt. Charles Speed in the centre.
The PC's either side of him are PC 387 & 40.
I can confirm the following: Constable 260 Charles Reginald Speed was born in 1890 at Whitstable Kent joined the force being posted to Tonbridge in February 1912 [following training], served also at Edenbridge (still pat of Tonbridge division). After passing the sergeants exam in December 1917 eventually transferred to Sittingbourne on promotion in 1922. Pensioned 1937. Residence prior to joining 61 Essex Street Whitstable, grocers asst. before joining.
