The Historic Dockyard, in Chatham, has a "Salute to the 40's" weekend in September and this year, 2008, it was decided to acquire sandbags and make the museum look as though it was a wartime police station. Curator John Endicott is seen here with his Tin hat and Gas mask. The 'shelter' sign hanging on the sandbags fooled lots of visitors who went to see where the shelter was !
